About Our Firm

Our firm is committed to providing the highest level of individual service and attention to client needs at a reasonable price.  We are involved in all client contacts and do not pass work off to paralegals or young associates.  We have a broad base of experience on which to draw and we will strive to help you and your family choose the best course of action.

We have a long history of litigating complex civil cases throughout Southern California.  We enjoy litigation but we do not enter into litigation frivolously.  Avoiding litigation will be the best choice for many of our clients. We have had extensive training as mediators and negotiators and we apply that training to help our clients find solutions to their disputes whenever possible.

However, when it is necessary, litigation must be pursued in a thorough and thoughtful manner with a goal towards creating a clear record and drawing attention to the most important facts.  The cases we litigate are never resolved via a “smoking gun” or dramatic admission on the witness stand.  Rather they are determined by the cumulative effect of hundreds of pieces of paper and a factual record that often covers many years.

Estate Planning And Administration
Avoiding unnecessary Court costs and potential litigation is the primary reason that people engage in Estate Planning.  Our Estate Plans are constantly updated to reflect the latest changes and developments in California law and the Federal Estate Tax.  Our objective is to make your Estate Planning documents a clear expression of your intent that will be easily understood by your descendants.  Our typical Trusts are less than 10 pages long – double spaced.

When administration is necessary our experience in real estate and business allows us to advise clients on all aspects of administration to make the best and most efficient choices.  We have a wide network of professionals that can assist in the administration process but we are also willing to let the clients do much of the work if they are looking to keep costs at a minimum.  We are willing to do Probate Administration work on an hourly basis, because in many cases we find that the California Statutory Fees result in an unwarranted windfall to the attorneys.

Probate Litigation - and Contested Matters

Business Litigation
Business litigation should be about enhancing or preserving your business.  The economics of the litigation are generally at the forefront.  There is no point in winning the litigation battle only to lose the business war.  Moreover, any business will suffer if the principals are distracted by litigation.  We understand these limitations and we will take the time to learn about your business and help you to determine the best course of action.

Real Estate
Like business disputes, there will always be a focus on economics.  However, real estate issues will be dictated by the unique aspects of the particular property involved.  We have significant experience in real estate investing as principals and as legal counsel.  The most important aspect of real estate law is the breadth of potential legal remedies and solutions.  Real Estate law is the oldest and most developed part of our common law heritage and advising clients in Real Estate matters requires a keen focus on the applicable law and the practical solutions.
